Why is my dehumidifier running but not collecting water?
If the fan runs but the bucket stays empty, the unit isn’t getting cold enough to condense moisture. That’s a failed compressor or a refrigerant leak on older units, or a bad humidity sensor telling the compressor not to run. In a cold basement, the coil can also simply be below its working temperature.
Usual fix: Humidity sensor or control; compressor and sealed-system problems usually mean replacement, and we’ll say so up front.
